Manchester United 4-2 Sheffield United: Erik ten Hag's Side Recover Twice to See Off Bottom Side
Erik ten Hag's Manchester United delivered another chaotic but ultimately victorious performance, coming from behind twice to defeat bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United 4-2 in the Premier League.
The win moves United into fourth place in the standings, just three points behind leaders Arsenal, while Sheffield United remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just one point from their first four games.
Manchester United started the game brightly and took the lead in the fifth minute through Antony's well-taken finish. However, Sheffield United hit back quickly, with Oli McBurnie equalizing in the 12th minute.
United regained the lead in the 32nd minute through a brilliant goal from Marcus Rashford, but Sheffield United once again leveled the scores just before half-time, with John Egan heading home from a corner.
The second half was a more even affair, but United eventually managed to find a winning goal in the 72nd minute through a penalty from Bruno Fernandes. The Portuguese midfielder then added a second goal in the 82nd minute to seal the victory.
Speaking after the game, ten Hag praised his team's fighting spirit, saying: "I'm very happy with the win. We showed great character and determination to come from behind twice. We still have a lot of work to do, but we're moving in the right direction."
