Boston Celtics Triumph Over Dallas Mavericks in NBA Finals Opener

In a highly anticipated matchup, the Boston Celtics emerged victorious in Game 1 of the 2024 NBA Finals, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 on Tuesday night at the TD Garden.

The Celtics were led by a balanced scoring attack, with Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum each contributing 24 points. Kristaps Porzingis led the Mavericks with 20 points in his return from a calf injury, but it wasn't enough to overcome Boston's dominance.

The Celtics jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter and never looked back. They held the Mavericks to just 37% shooting from the field and forced 12 turnovers. Boston also dominated the glass, outrebounding Dallas 53-39.

The Celtics will have a chance to take a 2-0 series lead when they host Game 2 on Thursday night. Game 3 will be played in Dallas on Saturday night.
