Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oilers clinched a spot in the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday, edging out the Dallas Stars in a thrilling 2-1 victory.

The Oilers clinched the series in six games and will now face off against the Colorado Avalanche in the championship series. It will be the Oilers' first appearance in the Stanley Cup Final since 2006.

Connor McDavid led the Oilers' offense with a goal and an assist in the Game 6 victory. Zach Hyman scored the other goal for Edmonton.

Stars goaltender Jake Oettinger stopped 25 of 27 shots, but it wasn't enough to prevent the Oilers from advancing.

The Oilers will open the Stanley Cup Final at home on Wednesday night.
