Spain To Host Eurovision Song Contest 2024

Spain to Host Eurovision Song Contest 2024

Madrid's Caja Mágica to Welcome Europe's Finest

Historic First for the Iberian Peninsula

The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be held in Spain, making it the first time the country has hosted the prestigious competition. The event will take place on November 16, 2024, at Caja Mágica in Madrid, Spain.

The announcement was made by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Televisión Española (TVE), Spain's public broadcaster. Spain won the right to host the contest after its entry, "SloMo" by Chanel, won the 2022 competition in Turin, Italy.

Caja Mágica, known for hosting the Madrid Masters tennis tournament, has a capacity of over 12,000 people. The venue is located in the heart of Madrid, next to the Manzanares River and the Royal Palace of Madrid.

The Eurovision Song Contest is one of the world's largest and most popular non-sports television events. The competition features musicians from over 40 countries, who sing original songs in their native languages. The winner is determined by a combination of jury and public voting.

Spain has a long history in the Eurovision Song Contest, having participated in the first contest in 1961. The country has won the competition twice, in 1968 with "La La La" by Massiel and in 1969 with "Vivo Cantando" by Salomé.

The 2024 Eurovision Song Contest will be the 65th edition of the competition. It will be the first time that Spain has hosted the contest since 1969.
