Canada Qualifies for Copa America Knockout Stage

Canada finished second in Group A five points behind winners Argentina

Canada qualified for the knockout stages of the Copa America on Saturday with a 1-0 victory over Guyana. The Canadians finished second in Group A with five points, two points behind group winners Argentina.

Canada's lone goal came in the 33rd minute when Alphonso Davies converted a penalty kick. Davies was brought down in the box by Guyana's goalkeeper and the referee pointed to the spot. Davies stepped up and calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner.

Canada will now face Mexico in the quarter-finals on Saturday. Mexico finished top of Group B with seven points.
